Marjan hill
For a large European city , Split is blessed by nature. The Adriatic glistens in front of the city and to the right is Marjan, a divine green hill which is not only the lungs of the city, but also home to some amazing heritage . Possinilities of recreation are endless- both for mind and body (hiking, cycling, jogging, climbing forest paths plus some spectacular views as a bonus. On the other hand, marjan was always a city’s spiritualsanctuary with its miniature centuries old churches.
It is rare to find such a city with almost 20 kilometers of swimmable coast and clean sea. Choose between sandy Bačvice beach and almost deserted corners around Marjan hill. There is something for every taste- even if you prefer nude bathing. It is surrounded by more daring mountains like Mosor and Kozjak where you can find some interesting cycling routes, mostly going inland.
Bol / Zlatni rat beach
Bol is the oldest coastal settlement on Brač. It exists in the solitude of the southern landscape, at the foot of the Bol crown and Vidova Mountain- both the highest peak of the island and of all Adriatic islands (778 m). To the west from Bol lies the beach Zlatni rat (Golden Horn) one of the largest and most beautiful attractions of the Adriatic. Like a small tongue it extends nearly half a kilometre into the clear blue sea.
